Just two weeks after completing the most incredible Vendée Globe in history, ‘Crazy Kiwi’ Conrad Colman has signed up to speak at Scotland’s Marine Tourism Conference on Thursday 23rd March 2017.
At only 33 years of age, Conrad Colman became the first ever skipper from New Zealand to complete Vendée Globe – the ‘Everest of the Seas’ – and the only skipper to ever complete the non-stop round-the-world race using no fossil fuels.
… but that’s only the beginning of his story…
His return to Les Sables d’Olonne after over 110 days at sea, and almost 28,000 miles concluded a remarkable storybook adventure which has captivated race watchers from all around the world.
His finish reflects his incredible tenacity, drive and endurance. He’s overcome incredible odds – been thrown overboard, tackled a fire onboard, been dismasted, set his own jury rig, and run out of food – in order to complete his goal of finishing the legendary solo round the world race!
Hear the story for the first time in his own words at Scotland’s Marine Tourism Conference on 23rd March 2017 at The Beacon Arts Centre, Greenock.
