Our Trips
Cruise ecosse offers an unforgettable bespoke sailing experience. The boat and skipper are chartered to suit your dream cruising holiday and to fulfil your sailing ambitions. Our website itinerary gives you a taste of what we can offer, however, we are keen to accommodate our trips around you. We operate between May and September and make the most of the season by exploring the breath-taking west coast of Scotland. From the western isles and St Kilda, to the small isles and inner Hebrides. Occasionally groups request a trip further afield with an exciting excursion to the Faeroes on our 2024 agenda. The skipper and crew have decades of experience in the area and knowledge of incredible landscapes, local cuisine and the best spots for amazing wildlife encounters. If required, tuition on the yacht is freely available for beginners or experts who are encouraged to develop their skills and confidence.
The Boat
Aislig Bheag is Gaelic for small dream or vision and pronounced “Aishlick Viack”. She is a Jeanneau Trinidad 48’, which for ease of handling, has roller reefing on the foresail and lazy jacks on the mainsail. The boat is designed for speed and comfort so crew and guests can enjoy some exciting sailing whilst maintaining a tranquil holiday atmosphere. The pilot house is equipped with large panoramic windows, making the main saloon light and airy. She also has plenty of storage for duvets, towels, water proofs and bedding available at a small additional cost. We also store two swings, a number of hammocks, and diving/snorkelling equipment, the use of which is highly encouraged.
Crew
John has skippered Aislig Bheag since 2002. As a sailing enthusiast since a boy he has sailed extensively around the west coast of Scotland and occasionally further afield to the Faeroe’s, Norway, Russia, the Mediterranean and Caribbean.
