DIRECTOR PROFILE - GLENN PORTER
After an introduction to marine sports as a child Glenn became heavily involved in sailing on both the West Coast of Scotland and the Mediterranean following a move to Scotland to study.
As a volunteer on the youth sailing vessel Clyde Challenger Glenn saw many miles of sailing on Scotland's west coast before acquiring a cruising yacht in the Mediterranean. Used mainly for bareboat charter, flotilla and sea school activities it allowed for experiences in a different charter market to the UK.
This was followed up by taking ownership of the Clipper 60 ocean racing yacht Clyde Challenger, and subsequently her sister ship Taeping and entering them into the adventure sailing market. After refitting both yachts to Category 0, unrestricted ocean sailing they have operated in the adventure sailing, youth and charter markets.
Glenn brings experiences from foreign marine markets and different industry sectors to the board of Sail Scotland.
