St Hilda Sea Adventures provides a unique cruising and wildlife holiday on the beautiful west coast of Scotland in the Hebrides or in Argyll; an unforgettable adventure for all ages!

Each trip is a unique holiday experience on board St Hilda, a traditional, wooden 54ft ketch going to sea with only six guests, but with your own onboard skipper and cook: perfect for singles, couples and groups or families. The St Hilda was built in 1973 in St Monans by a family-owned (Miller) boatyard in Fife, specifically for sail training with a crew of 20 which is why, with only six guests, St Hilda is so spacious. She is one of the smallest of the “Tall Ships” and has competed in several Tall Ship races.

We take our passengers to the West coast of Scotland: the Hebrides and Argyll - beautiful, unspoiled coastlines of spectacular sea lochs and stunning Highland landscapes and incredible wildlife. We anchor in the most sheltered, idyllic places where you can visit distilleries, world famous islands such as St Kilda, Mull, Jura, Islay, Staffa and Iona, watch the wildlife, go fishing or swim in the sea lochs or go ashore to explore.  Dolphins, porpoises, basking sharks, otters, red squirrels and many species of birds are regularly seen and even the occasional Minke whale.  We have even seen a breaching humpback whale in Loch Long! Each day is as action packed or as relaxing as you please; perfect for recharging the batteries.

A cruising holiday on board the St Hilda is fun and informal.  The roomy deck saloon is where everyone dines and socialises and the outdoor decks are perfect for spotting wildlife and relaxing and eating al fresco when the boat is at anchor. Cabins are warm and comfortable with six berths for our guests: four, comfortable single berths in the fore cabin with a shared toilet and shower (that are a high standard for a yacht) and one, roomy, double en-suite in the aft cabin. All linen, towels etc are supplied. A favorite place is the saloon which is well lit and a great place from which to view the stunning scenery. The St Hilda provides a perfect holiday afloat in some of the most beautiful areas of the west coast of Scotland. Youngsters and adults love having a shot at hauling up the sails, setting the jib, main and mizzen and raising the anchor.  There is plenty of room on deck to carry canoes, windsurfers or cycles if you wish to bring your own.  The boat tender takes you ashore or to explore shallow waters and responsibly approach the wildlife.
