Situated on the idyllic island of Cumbrae, within an hour's commute of Glasgow, you'll find sportscotland Cumbrae.
The centre benefits from being surrounded by safe water with easy access to the open sea and Scotland’s beautiful West Coast. Our highly qualified instructors provide expert tuition, with something to suit ALL levels. So whether you choose Yacht Cruising, Dinghy Sailing, Paddlesports, Windsurfing or Powerboating, you can be safe in the knowledge that you’re in experienced hands.
A reputation built-up over 40 years:
The centre celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2016. Working with partners such as RYA(S) and SCA, Cumbrae delivers governing body certificates which support progression in your chosen watersport.
Students come from all over the world for our highly sought after 17-week Professional Yachtmaster Training Course (PYT); USA, Sweden, France to name a few.
Both of our 37-38 feet yachts are fully inspected by the MCA and RYA and are fast, comfortable cruisers with all specialised equipment on-board.

“The best place to learn about being on the water” (Don Shepherd, 'Dinghy Start Sailing').
